Scope of Work
Works Planned for 2025:
Build sidewalks, curbs, roads, gutters, and retaining walls
Install temporary lighting and streetlights
Ongoing track work and Utility Complex mobilization

Accelerated Work Begins
On February 11, 2025, the City of Edmonton’s Urban Planning Committee approved the Valley Line West 2025 Roadway Construction Options and Impacts plan to accelerate Valley Line West construction. Beginning the week of April 14, 2025, 104 Avenue between 105 Street and 121 Street will be reduced to a single lane in either direction. This work is expected to last 12-weeks. Lane reductions on 104 avenue and on 109 Street will continue for the remainder of the construction season.

What you can expect
Accelerated Work on 104 Avenue Traffic Impacts
- Work will be performed on the north side between 105 Street and 110 Street, while traffic will be on the south side.
- Between 110 Street and 121 Street, construction activity will be on the south side of the road, while traffic will be on the north side.
Access Closures
- North of 107 Street and 108 Street.
- South of 111 Street and near 114 Street.
Pedestrian Access
- East and West pedestrian access will be maintained on 104 Avenue; however, detours will be in place
- North and South bicycle lanes on 121 Street between 104 Avenue and 105 Avenue will be maintained.
Other Impacts
- Between 105 & 110 St, work is on the north side of the road, traffic is shifted south
- Access closures at north 107 St & 108 St
- Between 110 St & 121 St, work is on the south side of the road, traffic is shifted north
- On 109 St, north of 104 Ave, work is in the middle of the road, traffic is shifted out
- Access closures at:
- South – 111 St, near 114 St (Long Street), 117 St, 118 St, 119 St, & 120 St
- North – 107 St & 108 St (MacEwan University, emergency access maintained at 108 St)
- Tree removal and/or access to Oliver Park and Arena
- Access for MacEwan University may be impacted
- Impacts to small businesses and relationship management with Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Business Association
- Impacts to Longstreet, Unity Square, and the Brewery District
- General access closures
